And so this week finds us at the end of the Fire Festival, with spectacular fireworks in game, and out of game for our own Independence Day celebrations. Happy Fourth of July to everyone!
Ring the Gong:
- This week's "So Close, but Yet So Far" award goes to Lindae, who Acheived Level 69 last night, and is working her way to 70, but missed this week's highlights.
- Lootabull, still currently in the most played alt section of my toons, got Level 60 this week. Which probably means it's time to switch again *g*
Upcoming Events:
- Kara runs this weekend and next. Make sure to sign up in the events forum posts.
- Immortal Incarnations - A very similar guild that we are joining up with to help fill up instance/raid runs. As well as just make great new friends. If you haven't met any of them yet, check the in-game Message of the Day for info on how to join our combined chat. Very friendly of the ones I've had a chance to meet so far. Stop in and say hi.
- We've set up Group Calendar to sync with Immortal Incarnations. This will make it easier for all of us to schedule and share events (rather than popping off a last minute note in chat). Check the forums and in game MOTD for details in setting it up.
- And speaking of scheduling events, now that we are getting a good amount of crew back (and a few of them are on a bit later for those west of server time), we're starting to get a weekly Wed. night run scheduled for a bit later than normal times. Check the events forum for the "Night Nurse" post, as well as the calendar in game.
- Check the in-game calendar for forming pre-mades for the BG's this weekend. Maybe it'll be easier to gain marks and honor if we're running mostly together.
- Make sure to check the events forums for any scheduled raids or things missed here in the news (or post something you would like to do)
General Guild/Game Updates:
- Wrath of the Lich King Beta Opt-In available for signups (I'm sure everyone already has but I'll mention it anyway). Go to your account management page on the official WoW site (always type it in yourself, don't trust any site/email links for it) and click on the option to opt-in. This is only a chance to be picked from others opting-in, not a guarantee that you will get in. Good luck!
- A new feature on the website, in the menu bar across the top you'll notice "Game Tools". Those contains links (published by guildlaunch) for helpful WoW tools. The be.imba! link is pretty neat, will look at your level 70 toon and evaluate it's gear and tell you what you are best suited for.
- And the
patch notes for 2.4.3 are up. And it is a long list, few of the more interesting points: Mounts starting at level 30 and construction can be seen in Stormwind on a new Harbor (that will be available with or by the time Wrath of the Lich King comes out.
- The
Midsummer Festival has started and will continue for another week (July 5th). Jump in the fun and celebrate, now with a few new features. And be sure to check out the fireworks display at the end of the festival.
Lazy Peons:
- Andwelcome our newest peon, Mattiasx
- And Rumpsteak took the challenge this week, congrats for the tribesman promotion.
Add-on Highlight:
- As posted on the forums (and the Gallery), redesigned my UI again. This time I used a new unitframes addon to make vertical bars.
Pitbull 3.0 is a heavily customizable unitframes addon. It takes a good bit of time to go through everything to get it the way you want, so this one is a bit more advanced than simply dropping into the addon folder. For a small but good tutorial on making the vertical bars
check here,
A word from our sponsor: As I think we've gone through the list of all the extras and features we offer. Going to use this space as our recap of great things for the guild and reminders.
- Don't forget to check the calendar and guild bank for your in game grouping and item needs.
- The website is a great place to post images, post and read on the fourms (and of course get your news) and get guild information that you might miss in game.
- Remember to check the
Peon Discussion forum each week for Peon Challenge polls.
Keep the news fresh and exciting by posting any news you'd like to share!
